Avodartis (Dutasteride) a prescription drug used to treat an enlarged prostate. Avodartclaims they actually shrink the prostate and don't just remedy the symptoms. People take Avodarthoping to avoid prostate surgery while improving urinary flow. Approved by the FDA this drug prevents the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT is part of the process when developing benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). People who are allergic to finasteride also known as Propecia and Proscar should not take Avodart. While on Avodart do not donate blood. If you are a blood donor you should wait at least 6 months after your last dose before donating. Donated blood could cause birth defects if a pregnant women were to receive a transfusion. Avodart can be absorbed through the skin. Pregnant women should avoid contact with this drug as it can cause birth defects. |
